Customer Reviews

If I could rate this 6 stars, I would! I've eaten lunch at La Minestra several times now while traveling to Pierre for work, and every single visit has been worth the stop. Locals recommended it to me early on, and they couldn't have been more right. This place is a true gem. Parking was easy and just on the street right out front. The ambiance is warm, welcoming, and full of that small-town charm, yet the flavors are wonderfully sophisticated. The service had been consistently fantastic. They are always friendly and ready to walk through the specials while staying attentive without hovering. My favorites for lunch are the beet salad and the chicken noodle soup, both incredibly fresh and flavorful. And honestly, you can't go wrong with any of the pasta dishes here. Everything I've tried has been outstanding. Fresh and clearly made with care. When the food arrives, it's always something to look forward to. La Minestra has become a must-stop for me whenever I'm in Pierre. Delicious food, warm service, and a consistently memorable experience every time.

We loved it. We used Google maps to find it, and parking was easy. Once inside you enter into the bar area and immediately can see through to the busy kitchen. The smell of fresh baked bread and pizza overwhelm the senses. The ambiance is welcoming and warm. We noticed the sign that said "seat yourself," and found a nice corner table in this packed restaurant at lunch time. Our server was very professional and courteous went through the various specials with us and was attentive to our needs. When our food arrived we enjoyed it very much. They had an unusual soup this day that I'd never tried before and I thought it was delicious, "chicken pot pie soup" I had a hamburger and their truffle fries my wife had a turkey sandwich both of us were satisfied the meal came to 30-35 dollars very reasonable.

Portions are large. Quality of food is exceptional. Suggest starting with Truffle Fries. Mark's Favorite, Cedar Plank Salmon or Bella Luna are our choice for entrees.

This is a great place to eat. It was packed when arrived. We had a drink at the bar and waited about 15 minute to be seated. The food was a really good and the staff definitely hustles.

The food is good and the pasta is fresh. The menu is small. I asked for chicken Alfredo which was not on the menu. They kindly said they could make that, I expected them to say no. The Alfredo was a little heavy in cream but still good. Service was quick and staff was friendly.

I like this place because it has a flavor distinct from the rest of the food in Pierre. I've only eaten their lunch specials, which change daily. Their newer happy hour menu is great. Nice selection and reasonably priced. I appreciate the smaller portions and $2 price tag, so I can order a variety. Wait staff is consistently on point, friendly, quick, and apologetic if something doesn't go right.
